Roaming Drama

In collaboration with Show of Strength Theatre Company, Year 10 GSCE drama students performed the roaming drama, "Peeps and Bursts." The audience were taken on a journey through time and place from Ashton Gatehouse to Ashton Court Mansion. Watch a short film to find out more.

Red Book

Humphry Repton was a 19th Century landscape designer who became famous for showcasing his ideas in red Moroccan leather books.

Although he consulted with the Smyth family about Ashton Court, his plans were only partially adopted and a Red Book never commissioned.

Art and History students stepped back in time and created their own version of a Repton Red Book.

Geophys Survey

Geography students together with the archaeological team, Archeoscan carried out a geophysical survey.

They focused the survey on Ashton Park's playing fields to determine whether the original driveway to Ashton Court remained.

Photography

A level photography students used their creative skills to showcase the gatehouse.

The finds from the building such as oyster shells, a rusty lock and ink well discovered during the clear out were photographed. Students also documented the building progress.

Nick Church, volunteer photographer on the project has used the students work to create a timelapse film.
